The process started with a phone call screen with a recruiter.
Then, an interview was set up with the hiring manager of the team for the position. This was a conversation, not a coding challenge.
The interview with the hiring manager was mainly very specific questions about my current job (how the team works, technologies used, etc.). He would also ask several questions about my experience at once and would then cut me off while I was answering. He asked about how I would structure their current product. It felt like they wanted to get some outside perspective on their current work.
They never responded after this second round. When I went to send a thank you email to the recruiters I had spoken with, the email bounced back. I tried a few times and continued to have this result. It seems like they had blocked my email address or something, which feels like overkill even if you aren't interested in a candidate.
What technologies do you use in your current job?
