I had a 30-minute phone interview. The interviewer called 10 minutes late.
All went really well. He asked general quality questions, one programming question, and about complexity and data structures. He said he would like to call for an onsite interview and ended with, "Talk to you soon." My only concern was the salary range I was asking for.
On the same day, I received an automated rejection email. I emailed HR back for feedback, stating I could be flexible on salary for a good opportunity. She claimed to have no idea about the reason for rejection and told me that they offer a certain salary to people with 5 years of experience.
I simply asked for feedback because I knew they wouldn't accept my candidacy after rejection, but this type of behavior is not acceptable. After one day, she replied that the actual reason was my communication and technical skills. Are you kidding?
