I withdrew from the interview process after being told I was being extended an offer, but before receiving an official offer.
I interviewed on campus at my university with Visa. I had two 45-minute interviews, each with teams of two people.
The first team was about 20 minutes late, and they seemed very unprepared to interview me. They were clearly trying to come up with coding problems on the spot, and one of the interviewers seemed to have no idea what I was saying throughout the interview. Additionally, I was asked a very unrelated puzzle-type question, which I've shared below.
The second team of interviewers was no better. One of them was on time for that interview, and he seemed to have come prepared with a few coding problems. However, the other interviewer was late, and after he showed up, he began asking me the same resume questions that the first interviewer asked.
After the interviews, I was given a HackerRank challenge to complete, which was quite simple. I was then told I would have a final phone screen.
Before it was scheduled, however, I received another offer. I informed my recruiter, who said I would receive a hiring decision by the end of the week. I did not receive a decision by the end of the week.
The next week, I received an email stating I would be given an offer and to expect details by the end of that day or the next. The email also asked me to confirm that I would not need work sponsorship. I responded, and then I was asked for my GPA. I responded, then I was asked for my major-specific GPA. I responded, and then I was asked for my transcript.
At this point, I decided to accept the other offer and informed the recruiter that I would no longer be pursuing the role.
If there are 3 switches in one room and 1 lightbulb in another, and you can only go from the room with the switches to the room with the bulb once, how would you determine which switch turns on the bulb?
