Horrific interview experience @ Bellevue (WA) office a few months back.

Recruiter directly scheduled a full-day onsite without a preliminary call. There was no informational with a manager or any phone interview. This was a red flag, but I showed up anyway.

Onsite, there were 4 hours of interviews scheduled with 8 interviewers(?!)

The first was with the hiring manager, who never showed up – shocking!!

A tech lead showed up and asked all random questions, such as 'Why didn't you apply for this other role?' The demeanor was mostly mocking, with questions like 'What do you know about x?' After a few random questions for 10-15 minutes, the interview ended.

After that, two proper coding interviews occurred, but they were only around 30-35 minutes each.

After 2 hours of interviewing, I was suddenly asked to leave?! My interviews weren't bad, in my opinion, and it seems impossible to be rejected based on them. Either they found a candidate already, or something else happened.

After the onsite, the recruiter never emailed back. Not even a thank you for showing up for an abrupt onsite interview?

Even after a ping, the recruiter did not respond. (The recruiter was ignoring email questions before the interview, so perhaps this was expected.)

Can you believe this behavior? Sheer arrogance.

They need to learn to treat external candidates respectfully.

Why did you not apply for this 'other' role?
