TL;DR
I received an email from Walmart Labs regarding an opening with the subject "Java Engineering at Bangalore". The email was from a Walmart recruiter. Although the email address was with the domain name "@walmart.com", the display name was:
This person had called me for an interview about 10 days prior, but I could not attend at that time. A few days ago, he called me again and asked me to come for an interview. He forwarded the JD again with skillsets including JavaScript, Java, Node, React, SQL, NoSQL, etc.
I am primarily a backend developer, but since I had also been working with React for a year, I thought they were looking for a Fullstack engineer who could manage both.
Interview Day: (October 4th, 2019)
I learned during the interview that the position was for completely UI development. The interviewer was cool and friendly. He asked generalized questions from Data Structures, which I answered with example dry runs. But internally, I was waiting to leave that interview.
THE HR/RECRUITER HAS NO CLUE ABOUT THE OPENING. THEY MERELY LOOK FOR KEYWORDS IN YOUR RESUME. THEY DO NOT ASK HOW EXPERIENCED YOU ARE IN THAT PARTICULAR TECHNOLOGY. THEY SEND YOU TO A DIFFERENT TEAM/OPENING WITHOUT EVEN INFORMING YOU THE NATURE OF THE NEW POSITION.
NO DOUBT ABOUT THE COMPANY RATING OF 3.1, WHEN YOU HAVE THESE HR PERSONNEL HANDLING THE ORGANIZATION. THESE KIND OF HR PROFESSIONALS NEED TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY FOR DEGRADING THE ORGANIZATION'S REPUTATION.
To the technical team:
When you need complete UI development on React, what does the candidate have to do with Java, Node, Express, SQL, and No-SQL? This confuses the candidate, making them think you are looking for a Backend Developer/Full Stack. Please create your JD with a well-defined objective and a clear job title.
