Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India

Process

Applied through a referral.

I had a telephonic screening first, then was called on-site for an interview.

The interviewers were intimidating and did not make the experience pleasant. They bombarded me with questions, and the moment they realized an answer was partly incorrect, it became their field day. This was mostly true with the lower-ups than the higher-ups; the interview level improved with higher-ups.

Additionally, the engineers switched to Hindi, which could throw one off their game. They did not clarify doubts or questions, instead asking me to look them up myself. I sensed an air of haughtiness from the interviewers, especially the lower-ups.

Overall, it was a long, 5-hour negative experience where no one kept to schedule. The only plus side was the free food.
