Bad management is the biggest issue, and employees are micro-managed.
Missed breaks and missed lunch a few times because they were so short-staffed. Managers get paid to do the bare minimum and have conversations inside the office while associates do all the work. But when the big bosses come to inspect the store, now they want to do all of what they’re paid to do.
Their employee discount is a joke.
Overworked but underpaid. Walmart has increased pay to $14 after many people complained about it being so low. I was there when they were paying $12 per hour for the same workload.
The phone interview and hiring process were quick. The manager was very conversational and talked about his personal interests. They were willing to work around my schedule.
These are pretty basic questions. You'll tell them about your personality, your hobbies, and why you want to work there. You'll also describe how you feel when you see a Walmart employee. It's not that hard; just be friendly and be yourself.
The interview involved a basic setup where the interviewer asked about my availability and any prior experience I had with customer service or similar roles. Since Walmart hires frequently, I obtained the position fairly quickly.
