The benefits are good. That's about it.
I have worked in corporate America for over 10 years and have never seen a more toxic and non-inclusive environment than when I worked for Walmart.
Most of the associates have an air about them, acting as if they are above everyone and treating others that are “below” them terribly. They also treat the suppliers, the lifeblood of the company, like garbage that they can throw away at any given time if they don’t submit to whatever request/demand that Walmart has.
I’ve also witnessed racial injustices that were brought to the attention of managers, but nothing ever happened, and the person/people involved were never called out for what they said or did. There is a culture of rewarding bad behavior and putting bullies on pedestals.
Managers promote their problem associates so they personally do not have to deal with them anymore, and they become someone else’s issue. That cycle just keeps continuing.
Walmart is a huge company, the largest in the world, so it isn’t fair of me to say that EVERYONE is like this, but I worked specifically in the MLK building for Home & Apparel, and unfortunately, that is how it is there.
Please do better.
