Walmart's Information Systems Division in AR has a very good internship program. The interns get to work on real projects in actual teams of developers.
The people are very nice, the company culture is very open, and the managers seemed very supportive. There are a lot of positive changes happening at Walmart ISD right now in terms of moving to new technologies.
All interns also went to the executive speaker series and got a chance to hear from and ask questions to the company's leadership (including the CEO), which was really awesome.
Perhaps the only downside to working at Walmart ISD is the area. It is in the middle of nowhere.
However, if you are the type of person who enjoys small towns and does not want to be in a big city, the location is fine. There is everything you need: schools, malls, etc. It's just a small town with no major city nearby.
Keep giving interns real projects on software development teams. This really helps them learn new skills and feel like they are actually creating value for the company.
The interview process was long; it took them almost two months to make up their minds. It started with a phone screen with a recruiter who didn't seem to know much about the role and company. This was followed by a phone screen with the hiring mana
One round for the contractor. This process is only for contract terms. There will be a panel of three members. They will ask basic questions on past experience and then drill your coding skills, including Python, PySpark, and SQL joins. Behaviora
As a new graduate, SWE 2 was my only option. I rate this interview process as bad due to unclear communication about the interview itself. The actual timeline from passing the assessment to a decision on an offer was about 2.5 months for me, althoug
