Pros

Good technology stack.

Good potential to learn.

Some departments provide employees a free hand to work.

Fast-paced environment.

Reasonably good compensation and benefits.

Best-in-class paternity leave policy.

Cons
  • Toxic work culture prevalent in many departments.
  • Directors and above in India mostly put their interests in front of everything else, resulting in an unfair and toxic environment.
  • There is no uniform criteria for growth and promotion across different departments.
  • HR (known as P&C) is a major issue. Instead of being an enabler, they mostly play the role of disruptors and are always firefighting people issues.
  • Future is uncertain with no clear long-term plans for continued work after the new market launches. A sizable reduction may happen.
  • Clear message from management to not expect promotions every cycle.
Advice to Management
  • Clean up toxic senior management (Directors +).
  • P&C role needs to be redefined to enable people to work better and improve the work culture, rather than always firefighting people issues. More senior people are needed on the P&C roles.
  • Senior management should walk the talk, leading from the front when enforcing policies like work from office.
