Pros: Nice work-life balance. Manager is nice. I learned a lot from communicating with other stakeholders from different teams.

Cons: Easy work. Similar tasks happen every day.

Pros: Once upon a time, I would have raved about how great it was working here. There used to be smart, engaged people who were empowered to solve big problems in tech. That is all in the past now, sadly. There are no pros to working for Wayfair anymore.

Cons: I've waited a few months after leaving to write this, so I could really understand my thoughts without them being colored by the emotion around leaving. What I've found is that my thoughts really haven't changed much in those months. I honestly mourn the company as it was when I started working there; back then, I felt like I could stay at Wayfair for a long time. Now, the company is a shell of its former self. What used to be a collaborative environment became rife with silos and finger-pointing by the time I left. From what I hear, it has only gotten worse since. Everyone is just waiting for the next round of layoffs, and at this point, the most skilled engineers that remain routinely talk about "losing the layoff lottery" when they DON'T get laid off (because they know they can find a new job fairly easily with their skills but want the severance payout that comes with being laid off). This leads to a completely toxic environment where most people just don't really care. I can't say I blame them. The change in culture all goes back to when they brought in a bunch of senior leadership from Walmart. Unsurprisingly, layoffs followed, and many of those laid-off positions are being backfilled in India at this point. The writing is very much on the wall. Wayfair is trying to ship as many engineering jobs overseas as possible under the cover of the post-COVID recession. The compensation is pretty poor because they base their numbers heavily around equity, which they grossly overvalue at this point. I don't know if they're even hiring in the US anymore, but if they are, I'd advise anyone considering it to stay away unless you have no other options. If you do take a position at Wayfair, don't stop looking for other jobs because the next layoff could happen any time the executives need a little stock price bump.

Pros: Very good environment for an internship.

Cons: Sometimes there was so much
