A headhunter sent in my application, and I shortly received a call from Leah, one of Wayfair's internal recruiters.
We spoke on the phone about the role. This particular role was advertised as 100% remote; however, when speaking with her, she mentioned that it would require multiple trips lasting one to two weeks throughout the year. I told her that it wouldn't work for me, but she encouraged me to continue with the interview process, saying that she would find me a role that would fit after I completed their skills assessment.
I walked away feeling like she didn't really care. She was very short and pushy.
I was scheduled for a Karat interview, which I passed. This moved me to the next round, which was onsite.
After receiving information about the onsite interview date, I contacted her via email to let her know that I would like to reschedule. I told her I'd feel more comfortable if we had a specific role/position to ensure we didn't waste any of the interviewer's time. At this point, I had about a thirty-minute conversation with her in total, in addition to a Karat interview. Her response says it all:
"Awesome, it doesn't sound like this is the right role for you. Best of luck with your job search!"
Don't interview with this company. They are exactly as bad as their reviews. They don't value your time or what you are interested in; you're just a number, and I'm sure that's how they will treat you on the job too.
For the Basic Karat interview, you can find information on the web.
