Software Engineer Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

Positive ExperienceGot Offer

Process

A direct phone screen interview, which lasted for 1.5 hours.

The people were nice. They seemed to have a relaxed and flexible environment.

I was asked one brain-teasing problem and several others that dealt with strings. Actually, I was expecting the first person to ask general questions, but both of them asked technical questions.

Questions

  1. Determine whether invalid {}, [], () exist in a string.

  2. Three buttons: one for Coke, one for Pepsi, and one for random selection. All of them are connected incorrectly (the Pepsi button connects to Coke, etc.). How do you figure out which button is which in three steps?
