Given the current state of the market, it's been really tough to get interviews and proceed in interview stages. However, I had the worst experience.
I was supposed to have a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager. He joined the call and spent more than 15 minutes just talking about the company and operations, without asking me any questions or even letting me introduce myself. He probably asked me only one question for the heck of it.
I received a rejection email pretty quickly. It's super obvious that they conducted this interview merely to show that they interviewed a minimum number of people when they had already decided on someone else. The interviewer just kept talking to run out the clock; he wasn't the least bit interested in knowing anything about my career.
Complete waste of time.
The only thing he asked me was if I was located in the Bay Area (area of operations).
