Software Engineer Interview Experience - Redwood City, California

Process

45-minute intro call with the hiring manager and a 45-minute phone screen on CoderPad. The interview question was easy. I thought I did well, but my guess is they are looking for developers who can code using Java 8 functional features. I did it using for loops. The code will be executed to test correctness.

The hiring manager will schedule an interview later to let you know they are not moving forward but will not give interview feedback, citing company policy. A waste of time.

Questions

You are given Stock, Position, and Portfolio class definitions. You have to implement buy, sell, and transfer stocks in a Portfolio class. A Stock has a ticker symbol. A Position has a stock and its quantity. A Portfolio has cash and a list of positions. Implement buy, sell, and transferFrom in the Portfolio class.
