Very strange.

Recruiter screen, 7-day take-home assignment, manager call, onsite. Standard process.

After I passed the week-long take-home assignment, there was a behavioral round.

At every step of the process, they'd been stressing how important it is to know about Wealthfront.

Ok, cool. So I learned more about it and started using it. As expected, on the call they try to gauge whether I've used the app and how much I know about what they do, which I have some knowledge of since I'd been told to prepare.

They then went down weird conversation routes, asking if I followed their social media and blog posts (who does this?) and whether I'd accept the offer if it came down to it without much need to sit on it.

They even went so far as to say if I had to think about it, it's probably not the right place to interview at.

Our conversation ended, and I was invited to the onsite, but they wanted to have another chat before scheduling anything.

The next call was basically them trying to figure out one thing: I said I didn't use the app too much when I submitted my application, but during our conversations, I indicated I'd used it.

This bothered them apparently, and on our third call, they said something isn't lining up, and that they can't get past the discrepancy, and it's best to move on.

Very bizarre waste of time. Who has enough time on their hands to have 3 calls about the same thing?
