Pros

Meaningful projects, good pay and benefits, diverse workforce.

Cons

A very large organization, it takes a long time to get things done, especially enterprise efforts.

It can be difficult to recruit top talent due to compensation at the junior ranks.

Executive management is going through a lot of turnover.

My take is the bank will take 2-3 years to stabilize and work its way out of the current regulatory rut it’s in.

Advice to Management

Listen more to the boots on the ground.

Many areas struggle significantly by being understaffed with qualified personnel. Centers of Excellence are often the centers of mediocrity.

Centralizing staff is not always the best way to save money. It often creates additional inefficiencies and knowledge gaps between these COE individuals and the LOBs they support.
