Associate Applications Developer Interview Experience - Pleasanton, California

Process

I was referred to this position by a friend who had just accepted a job offer for this same position. Consequently, I was contacted by their HR department to schedule a phone interview.

The phone interview was with a current developer at Workday. It began with basic behavioral questions and ended with a single, straightforward technical question about OOP.

The next day, I received an email inviting me to interview at their HQ. A week later, I interviewed onsite.

It was a full day of interviews and presentations about their product and the position. Typically, the onsite interview includes around 4 hours of interviews, with 1 hour dedicated to a technical UML design question.

In my case, in addition to the UML design question, I also had other technical questions covering SQL database design and OOP design.

Questions

Draw a UML diagram about airlines and show the cardinality between each relationship. Be able to explain in detail why you did what you did, and also be expected to expand on your original design.

Write code to reverse a string. Now do it again without storing it into any variables, i.e., modify it in place.

Assume you have an app that collects user data. Draw some SQL tables that you could use to store this data.
