The interview process began with an HR phone interview, followed by a technical phone screen, and then an onsite interview. The onsite interview took a full day, during which I met with various engineers and the team lead.
About a week later, the recruiter contacted me to inform me that I had passed the onsite interview and would be proceeding to the hiring committee, which would take another week.
A week after that, I was called again and told that I did not pass the hiring committee. The reason given was that the committee wanted more senior engineers for that particular team. However, the team had communicated that I am technically competent and would be introduced to other teams. Consequently, I was introduced to another Yahoo recruiter who recruits for other teams.
I was informed that I would have to go through onsite interviews again with these other teams (supposedly with fewer technical screens, as I had already passed the initial technical screens), and then pass through the same hiring committee. This process was estimated to take at least another two weeks.
As I had deadlines for other offers, I had to stop the interview process.
