Process

First, submit your application for the position you are interested in on the Yahoo careers site.

Second, a recruiter will email and call you to schedule a date for a phone interview.

Third, on the day of the interview, I received a call from one of Yahoo's engineers.

Since I did not pass the interview, I am unsure what the next step is.

Questions

In the phone interview, I was asked many technical questions, ranging from simple to a little tricky. Here are a couple of questions I still remember:

  1. What are a stack and a queue? What are the differences between them?
  2. How do you use a stack to simulate the behavior of a queue?
  3. What are the differences between Java and C++?
  4. How do you implement AJAX using JavaScript?
  5. How do you search for a record in a giant table of a relational database?
