Work-life balance is the most important factor for me when looking at jobs, so I'm happy that Zapier is great in this area. Some concrete examples of this are:
Since Zapier is fully remote, there is also a great culture of knowledge sharing and asynchronous communication. The technology stack is relatively modern and interesting to work with. Base pay is very competitive. The company places great importance on DIBE (Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity), and is transparently making improvements on this.
Some growing pains are evident in goal-setting and change management. Discussions with lower-level ICs make it seem like more than a few teams struggle with aligning on wider company purpose and feel bogged down by tech debt accumulated over so many years.
The Engineering onboarding, while I understand has been consistently improving, could still use a lot of work. There were lots of broken URLs, outdated docs, and an overall lack of cohesion/organization compared to the rest of the onboarding. I would also suggest to upper management to keep doing your best at improving the company culture, which I assume has been an ongoing effort. The empathic and positive company culture is the main reason I decided to join, and I know from discussions with other employees that it is a deciding factor for them staying as well.

Contacted by the recruiter the day after applying, I set up a video call for the same week. The recruiter call was pretty straightforward. They asked me about my experience and which technologies I was most familiar with. The recruiter also provided
