A member from the TA team called, enquired about my past experience, and set up a call with the CEO.
The call with the CEO went well; we discussed my past experience, people management skills, etc. They set up a technical interview next with a junior member of the Tech team. He asked me to design both HLD and LLD for a Fast Tag system.
I stated my assumptions and looked for alignment. He asked to continue, and then throughout the conversation, he was not paying attention and only nodded at times. He had totally lost his focus, and the overall candidate experience was pathetic.
He switched on his video for hardly 10-12 minutes, and for the rest of the 45-50 minutes, he had it off. To interview for a Senior Leadership role, a junior engineer who had zero care about candidate experience was assigned, which shows the culture at this startup. A forgettable experience, to say the least.
