Process

The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. They were very slow to respond and would miss things in emails, like not CC-ing people.

I had a phone tech screen about a month later, which was a fairly easy DFS question. The recruiter said I did great and was moving to the on-site stage.

I didn't even get to choose the roles I was applying for; they just decided to offer me two front-end roles that I didn't want. I said I wanted to do back-end, but the on-site interviews were all React, which seemed illogical.

The recruiter took forever to get back to me. They said the front-end roles were a "no," but a back-end role was interested. I had the initial call.

I had another offer expiring, so I told the recruiter if we could speed things up. They just ignored my email.

About a week later, after I had accepted elsewhere, the recruiter wouldn't stop bothering me, stating the back-end role was ready to move forward. All of a sudden, a quick response was important.

After considering just ghosting the recruiter, I politely told them I had accepted elsewhere. There was no reply or "thanks for wasting your time with us."

The back-end role was PHP too, which is a dying language... Now I'm just ranting.

I will never interview with Zillow again.
