First Round - Recruiter Telephonic:
Asked me about the basics of Swift (yes/no and MCQ-style questions to test knowledge of Swift and iOS development). Very easy; cleared it.
Second Round - F2F:
Went to the Gurgaon office. The POC recruiter did not attend me, and the interview started late.
PLEASE NOTE: The interviewer stated that the position they were hiring for was not a leadership role.
Machine Test: Asked to code. I did well in it.
Then, the interviewer started asking about my current work. They checked the apps I had worked on and inquired about how I implemented features and my reasoning behind those choices.
Later, they asked some basic Swift questions. They also asked questions about data fetching from different sources, GCD, caching, etc.
I made some mistakes in designing the cache, but overall, things went well.
After a 5-minute break, the interviewer returned to inform me that I was rejected. They mentioned that I possess good knowledge of Swift but that they were looking for someone with detailed expertise to guide junior developers (contrasting with their initial comment).
This was a very poor reason for rejection. It appeared as though the position was already filled, and since the interview was scheduled, they proceeded with it anyway.
