I received the technical assessment via email and did great. The recruiter interview was very good. She informed me that they were extremely impressed with my profile and technical test, to the point that the manager wanted to offer me a different role than the one I initially applied for.
I was happy, but then I got a shock in the interview with the Principal DevOps engineer. It was a GCP role, but he was asking questions from the internet and wanted to hear what he had in mind. He literally said, and I quote, 'I don't want to listen to any bulls**t about what you did in your experience; just tell me if you know the exact answer.' The guy didn't want to acknowledge that with my 10+ years of experience, I would have explored a lot instead of memorizing answers from the internet.
