Pros

Visionary technology. If you care to learn high-speed and scalable networking technology, then there is a lot to learn here. The C10M problem, being talked about as the problem of the next decade, is being tackled here for the last 5 years.

  • Small teams, lots of opportunity to learn by working with some seriously talented and passionate people.
  • Management that listens and acts. I can tell this certainly for engineering.
  • Zero politics.
  • Work-life balance is possible. This might not have been the case 2-3 years ago when the company was a budding startup, but now I do see many who are leading a good balance. Of course, there are others in the other camp, but a lot of times it depends upon one's priorities and passion.
  • Capable of change. I have seen the company changing during my tenure (of less than 3 years) with more focus given to employee recognition, benefits, proper HR, etc.
Cons

A startup in its rapid growth phase, with many challenges yet to solve. Depending upon your perspective, this can be an opportunity.

We are very selective in hiring. As a result, recruitment for experienced engineers is slow, sometimes resulting in a shortage of resources for some teams.

Competitive, but not in the top tier in terms of compensation and benefits.

No ping pong table here in Bangalore :(

Advice to Management

Technology changes rapidly. Giving more exposure and opportunity to folks on newer trends would be good.
