Staff Software Engineer, Visualization

10x Genomics, a leading biotechnology company, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in visualization to join their innovative team. This role combines cutting-edge front-end development with biological research applications, working on modern React-powered visualization tools that help researchers analyze genetic markers across millions of cells.

The position offers an opportunity to work on impactful projects like Xenium Explorer, contributing to tools that enable crucial biological discoveries in areas such as Alzheimer's disease, cystic fibrosis, autism, and COVID-19 research. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and building production-ready software, creating flexible UI components, and enhancing visualization tools using React and Electron.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in React, Redux, TypeScript, and modern CSS features. Additional experience with Golang, visualization tools (D3, Plotly, three.js, DeckGL), WebGL/WebGPU, and cloud services (AWS) would be beneficial. The role requires either a Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 6 years of experience or 8 years of professional software development experience.

This is a remote position based in California, offering a competitive salary range of $189,100 - $284,500 USD, along with comprehensive benefits and equity grants.
