Job Description

ACT1 Federal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the F-35 Mission Planning Enterprise (MPE) within the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO). This role is crucial for the F-35 Combat Data Systems (CDS) Program Management Office, which delivers infrastructure, tools, and labs that produce mission data for the F-35 Air System.

The position involves working with a comprehensive tool suite designed to support F-35 Mission Planning, integrating various critical components including Air Tasking Orders, aircraft capabilities, threats, targets, terrain, weather, jamming, deception, countermeasures, communications, sensors, weapons, employment tactics, navigation, routes, and asset coordination.

As a Software Engineer in this role, you'll be responsible for providing technical assessments of MPE software, analyzing user needs, and ensuring software solutions meet requirements. The role requires expertise in computer science principles, software engineering, and systems integration, working closely with hardware engineers to develop and maintain mission-critical systems.

The position requires a SECRET clearance and at least 6 years of experience in DoD programs, making it ideal for experienced software engineers with a background in defense systems. You'll be working on-site in Arlington, VA, contributing to essential national defense capabilities while being part of an employee-owned company that offers comprehensive benefits including medical insurance, 401k matching, and professional development opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a software engineer interested in working on sophisticated military aviation systems, combining software engineering expertise with mission planning and electronic warfare systems. The role offers both technical challenges and the satisfaction of contributing to national defense capabilities.
