Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Platform

  • Design, build, and maintain custom Ubuntu/Linux distributions for autonomous vehicle workloads
  • Optimize and tune ROS 2 DDS middleware for low-latency, high-throughput multi-sensor data flows
  • Develop and maintain kernel modules and drivers for LiDARs, cameras, radars, GNSS/INS, CAN
  • Maintain and expand system network interfaces
  • Implement observability and logging solutions
  • Collaborate with teams to profile CPU/GPU usage and remove bottlenecks
  • Harden the platform with security patches and OTA updates
  • Own CI/CD pipelines for OS images and driver packages
  • Provide on-call support during field trials
  • Contribute to technical documentation

Requirements For Software Engineer, Platform

Linux
Python
  • 3+ years of experience developing Linux-based embedded or robotics platforms
  • Deep knowledge of Ubuntu or Linux systems
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Hands-on experience with ROS 1 or ROS 2
  • Familiarity with communication buses and protocols
  • Strong grasp of real-time performance tuning
  • Experience with Git, Docker/OCI containers, and automated build systems
