Description For Wire Harness Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

We're seeking a talented Wire Harness Engineer with strong experience in vehicle or robotics wire harnessing and systems design to join our fast-paced team. This role will guide our electrical engineering efforts for reliable and functionally safe power and digital systems. The ideal candidate embraces rapid prototyping, data-driven decision making, and design ingenuity.

As a Wire Harness Engineer, you'll:

  • Own the electrical systems of our vehicle autonomy systems, including power, computing, and digital subsystems
  • Design and build electronic and harness assemblies and integrate them into the overall system
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and technician teams
  • Perform hands-on electrical integration work with LV/HV harnesses, lithium and lead-based batteries, power conversion systems and distribution

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with harness design, integration, and electrical test
  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical preferred
  • Experience with wire selection, termination and routing
  • Understanding of connector reliability, design, and assembly procedures
  • Experience safely working with high-power sources
  • Understanding of power distribution and fusing requirements
  • Working understanding of electrical test equipment and methods

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Multiple years of experience in harness and electrical design with successful delivery to market at production scale
  • Thorough understanding of DFM and DFA principles for wiring harnesses
  • Prior experience in electric vehicle development
  • Experience as a technician in electric vehicle servicing and maintenance
