Senior Software Engineer, Quality and Merchandising

Airbnb, a globally recognized platform connecting over 5 million hosts with travelers worldwide, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Quality and Merchandising team. The position focuses on building world-class backend merchandising systems that power data-driven features and boost the booking funnel. As a key individual contributor, you'll be responsible for architecting and implementing a merchandising system that serves both online and offline data merchandising insights from scratch. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams including Search, listings discovery, booking, and checkout.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of backend engineering experience and excel in building and scaling high-traffic products. You'll be looked up to as a backend and data engineering expert, leading technical directions and mentoring other engineers. The role offers the excitement of working on large-scale problems, from prototyping to leading talented engineers through multiple releases.

Working in a remote environment, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US (with some restrictions), while occasionally attending office meetings or offsites as needed. The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $191,000 to $223,000 USD, plus benefits including equity, bonus, and Employee Travel Credits.
