Description For ADC Engineer, Region Services - Aperture Team (ADC WorkSpaces)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ADC Engineer to lead in solving operational challenges in sensitive and mission-critical clouds. As part of the WorkSpaces team, which is leading the cloud desktop revolution, you'll be responsible for designing and maintaining highly scalable software services. The role focuses on ensuring optimal user experience, including launch times, login performance, and in-session interactions while maintaining security and high availability.

The position requires a strong technical background in systems administration, with expertise in Linux environments and scripting. You'll be working with cutting-edge cloud technologies, managing distributed server fleets, and implementing automation solutions at scale. The role demands excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Key responsibilities include managing system stability, collaborating with engineering teams, implementing monitoring solutions, and driving continuous improvement through metrics-based analysis. You'll be part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), which provides foundational services like S3 and EC2, along with specialized security solutions for cloud services.

This position requires maintaining an active TS/SCI security clearance and potentially obtaining additional clearances for specific government agency work.

Linux
  • Associate's degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification
  • 3+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows)
  • Experience working with scripting languages
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
