Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, AMXL Analytics

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is seeking a customer-focused, analytically and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to drive effective performance measurement and management, innovation, and execution in last mile delivery. This role will be responsible for building analysis and visualization tools to support the growing Amazon Logistics business in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams to gather requirements and deliver complete solutions
  • Prioritize and define AMXL data and BI development needs
  • Work with scientists, global supply chain, transportation, and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects
  • Own admin responsibilities for the team's Analytics Solution (Redshift cluster, Quicksight account, etc.)
  • Drive key tech strategic projects for the EU AMXL team
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests, long-term projects, and recurrent business review reporting

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively retrieve, integrate, visualize, and present critical data to Senior Leaders. They will work with technical and business teams to optimize planning, execution, process improvement, and track progress against goals.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Proficiency in data visualization using tools like Tableau or Quicksight
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS solutions (EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift)
  • Background in data mining and working with large-scale, complex datasets

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, AMXL Analytics

Python
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
