Job Description

Amazon Search's Whole Page Planning and Optimization (WPPO) team is at the forefront of revolutionizing the online shopping experience, serving nearly 50% of all online shoppers who start their journey on Amazon. We're seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our mission of creating simple, delightful, and WOW-worthy shopping experiences through advanced reinforcement learning systems.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you'll be instrumental in processing and analyzing large-scale search interaction data, developing sophisticated data pipelines, and creating comprehensive dashboards for real-time monitoring. You'll work closely with Applied Scientists and Engineers to evaluate ML models and A/B test results, while leading cross-functional analytics initiatives.

The role combines technical expertise in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence with the opportunity to impact millions of customers' shopping experiences. You'll leverage tools like QuickSight/Tableau, SQL, and Python to derive insights and build monitoring systems for business-critical metrics.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $89,600 to $185,000 based on location and experience, plus additional benefits and equity. Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer II, Amazon Search

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines to process and analyze large-scale search interaction data
  • Create comprehensive dashboards and reports using tools like QuickSight/Tableau for real-time monitoring
  • Partner with Applied Scientists and Engineers to measure the effectiveness of ML models
  • Build analytical frameworks to evaluate A/B test results

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer II, Amazon Search

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Experience with scripting (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
