Description For Cloud Support Engineer I - Networking

AWS Support Engineering is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer I specializing in Networking to join their global customer-facing organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while supporting AWS's diverse customer base. You'll focus on critical networking services including Elastic Load Balancing, CloudWatch, Route 53, VPC, VPN, and Network Firewalls.

As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll be instrumental in helping customers succeed with their cloud implementations, working directly with them to resolve technical issues and optimize their AWS infrastructure. The role combines technical problem-solving with customer service, requiring both deep technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.

The position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to learn new technologies, contribute to service improvements, and mentor future team members. You'll be part of a global team operating on a follow-the-sun model, ensuring 24/7 support for AWS customers worldwide.

Responsibilities For Cloud Support Engineer I - Networking

  • Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, and web/live chat)
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions
  • Drive initiatives to improve support-related processes and customer experience
  • Provide feedback to internal AWS teams on service improvements
  • Work on complex customer problems spanning multiple AWS services
  • Coach and mentor new team members
  • Work 5 days a week on a rotational basis including weekends

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer I - Networking

  • 1+ years of software development or technical support experience
  • Experience with system administration and troubleshooting operating systems
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and tools (HTTP/s, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model)
  • Experience with networking troubleshooting tools
  • Understanding of networking OSI model and protocols
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics or related field
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies
