AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems building and supporting the operations of Amazon-owned data centers.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
- Manage third-party commissioning vendors in the performance of onsite pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing
- Take ownership of project successes by diving deep to resolve technical issues
- Communicate lessons learned and collaborate on program improvements
- Provide multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects
- Review component submittal packages
- Perform system level and integrated system testing
- Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
- Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of project status and lessons learned
The role involves working with various systems such as:
- Medium and low voltage power systems
- Generators
- UPS
- HVAC (Air Handlers / Exhaust Fans / VFD)
- Chilled Water Systems
- Building Management systems (BMS)
- Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
- Testing and balancing
- Pumps and Hydronic systems
Physical Requirements:
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain
- Work longer hours and weekends when needed
- Perform physical tasks throughout the day
- Work in noisy, cold, or hot environments
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to relocate to the Columbus, OH area
- Travel up to 20% of the year (domestic and international)
- Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits
- US Citizenship is required
