Description For Commissioning Engineer, AWS Commissioning

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their team in EMEA. As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll be part of a creative and efficient team responsible for building and supporting AWS-owned data centers, Hybrid Colos, Single Tenant Colos, and Multi-Tenant Colo builds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting vendors, contractors, and teams in construction and commissioning of various systems (power, HVAC, BMS, etc.)
  • Providing multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects
  • Reviewing component submittal packages and leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Performing system level and integrated system testing
  • Auditing activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Comprehensive weekly reporting on project status and lessons learned

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 3+ years of commissioning experience
  • Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning-specific education
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (50% of the time)
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents
  • Experience with commissioning and project management software

  • Audit activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements

  • Develop commissioning standards
  • Review, comment on, and create commissioning scripts L1-L5
  • Organize and attend meetings to track build and commissioning progress
  • Perform site walks to identify installation and testing deficiencies
