Description For Engineering Operations Technician

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud running. As an Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of Earth's most customer-centric company, working in some of the most sophisticated and secure data centers globally. You'll maintain and operate critical infrastructure systems that power AWS's massive cloud computing portfolio, ensuring 99.999% uptime.

The role involves hands-on work with data center infrastructure, including rack installations, maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, and troubleshooting facility-level events. You'll collaborate with teams of front-line responders and work alongside the brightest minds in the industry to implement cutting-edge technology and best practices.

This position requires physical capabilities, including lifting up to 39 pounds and performing various construction tasks. Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician

Linux
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in shifts up to 12-hours
  • Physical capabilities including walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and working above shoulders
