Job Description

Amazon Data Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer for their Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Network Operations team, specifically targeting U.S. military veterans and spouses. This role is part of the AETP (Amazon Entry-level Training Program) initiative.

The position involves working with cutting-edge cloud computing technologies to support the U.S. Intelligence Community's infrastructure needs. As a Network Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks, from rack-level operations to core network management.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with experienced Network Engineers to implement sustainable solutions, managing complex technical issues, and working on networking projects involving deployment, scaling, and optimization. You'll also partner with the Infrastructure team on configuration standards and work closely with Systems and Software Engineers to ensure smooth implementation of new designs.

The role requires strong technical expertise in TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, and network security architecture. You'll need to be comfortable with Linux/Unix systems and have programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or similar. The position includes participation in an off-hours operations escalation pager rotation.

This is an excellent opportunity for military veterans to transition into cloud computing, offering comprehensive benefits, career development resources, and the chance to work with cutting-edge technology. The role requires obtaining and maintaining an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Amazon values diversity and work-life harmony, offering flexible working arrangements and a supportive, inclusive culture. The company provides extensive learning opportunities through knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and employee-led affinity groups. As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you'll join a team that's essential to keeping the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and infrastructure globally.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $35,000 to $157,300 based on geographic location, plus additional benefits including medical coverage, financial benefits, and career development opportunities. This role represents an excellent opportunity to join a world-class team while making a significant impact on critical infrastructure supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community.
