This role is crucial in driving the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks for AWS global infrastructure. The position combines network and Unix systems engineering to deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions.

The role involves working with one of the world's largest networks, requiring innovative solutions to complex challenges. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing next-gen platforms and tooling ecosystems, focusing on automation of builds, configuration deployment, and capacity scaling. The position requires collaboration with internal partners and careful consideration of customer needs from cost, performance, and reliability perspectives.

As part of the GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization, you'll work on the backbone that connects the global AWS network, controlling internet traffic that enables worldwide user access. The role involves high-quality network operations, deployments, scaling, and technology refresh, while working closely with automation teams to define tools for higher volume scaling.

Key responsibilities include creating and implementing network changes, leading network projects, providing critical network support, troubleshooting routing and connectivity issues, and maintaining networking standards. The position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary ranging from $127,400 to $212,800 depending on location, plus potential equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced network engineers looking to work with cutting-edge technology at a global scale.
