The Robotics Systems Engineer is a key member of the Amazon Robotics deployment team overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment within new and existing fulfillment centers. This field engineering-based role requires proven technical skills related to the deployment of robotic equipment including work with mechanical, electrical, networking, and software systems during a deployment.

A Systems engineer will work as a part of a team of 1-5 engineers supporting an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third party and Amazon designed robotics equipment. The deployments involve extensive collaboration with third party installers and contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and many other partner teams.

This role is a 6 month co-op to join AR full time (40 hours/week) from July to December 2024. Amazon Robotics co-op opportunities will be based in the Greater Boston Area, in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity for interns to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.

This position requires 75% travel. Valid US drivers license required.

  • Oversee installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment
  • Work with mechanical, electrical, networking, and software systems during deployment
  • Provide technical oversight on the installation of both third party and Amazon designed robotics equipment
  • Collaborate with third party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and other partner teams
  • Identify and solve problems in real time during projects
  • Drive continuous improvement projects
  • Develop process documentation and modify existing processes
  • Travel extensively across the US (75% travel required)

Requirements For Robotics Systems Dev Engineer Co-op - July-Dec 2024

Java

  • Currently completing a degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field
  • Experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems
  • Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to read technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems
  • Ability to read and develop technical documentation and process instructions
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment
  • Proficiency in standard office software tools and processes
  • Valid US driver's license
