Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Cloud Security Response team, where security is considered job zero. This role is crucial in protecting AWS Cloud services and operates on the AWS side of the Shared Responsibility Model to safeguard customers. As a Security Engineer, you'll be part of a global team operating in a follow-the-sun model across four geographical locations.   • Triage new incoming security issues and determine risk levels
  • Communicate security issues to various audiences including technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Participate in efforts to promote security throughout the company

  • 3+ years of experience on a Security Operations team
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience with systems, network, and/or application security

  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
  • Strong knowledge of web protocols and Linux/Unix tools
  • 2+ years experience with scripting or programming languages
