Senior Automation Engineer (Multi-Site)

Amazon's Operations division is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join their Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team in a multi-site role across Kentucky and Ohio. This position requires up to 80% travel to oversee automation engineering across 5-10 facilities.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work in Amazon's sophisticated fulfillment centers. You'll be responsible for maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance through proactive controls automation and technical support. The position involves working with cutting-edge technology including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices.

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you'll:

• Lead the maintenance and optimization of critical automation systems
• Troubleshoot complex control systems including PLCs, industrial networks, and electrical systems
• Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and system design improvements
• Provide technical escalation support both locally and remotely
• Analyze performance metrics and implement solutions to enhance throughput
