Description For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, PLX Finance BI

Prime Global Finance enjoys a unique vantage point into everything happening within Amazon. This Sr. BIE role will be part of a team responsible for managing data stores and generating data insights across two of the most impactful and high visibility areas within Amazon: Prime and Lifecycle Engagement. The Sr. BIE will partner with teams across finance, marketing, research, etc. to design and develop processes enabling insightful analysis of the business for key stakeholders across the entire Prime and Lifecycle Engagement organizations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop data collection, storage, and processing models
  • Participate in cross-functional requirements gathering
  • Ensure engineering solutions are scaled, automated, and user-friendly
  • Apply analytical, statistical, and mathematical principles in solution design
  • Develop, test, and implement queries and visualizations
  • Use statistical tools like R, SAS, STATA, or SPSS
  • Contribute to automation of data gathering and processing
  • Leverage data to demonstrate gaps and vulnerabilities
  • Provide insights on operational issues and recommend improvements
  • Communicate findings to senior management
  • Partner with Data Engineers to enhance data infrastructure and access to customer insights

The role offers an opportunity to work with large-scale data and directly impact decision-making at all levels of organizational leadership within Amazon's Prime and Lifecycle Engagement divisions.

  • Manage data stores and generate data insights for Prime and Lifecycle Engagement

Requirements For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, PLX Finance BI

Python
  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
