Senior Satellite GNC Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Senior Satellite GNC Engineer for Project Kuiper, you will be part of the Satellite Attitude Determination and Control team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and analyzing control systems and algorithms
• Supporting development of flight hardware and software
• Helping integrate satellites in labs
• Participating in flight operations
• Overseeing satellite production

You will work on:

• Designing and analyzing algorithms for estimation, flight control, and precise pointing
• Developing and applying models and simulations of satellites and constellations
• Conducting component level environmental testing, functional and performance checkout
• Subsystem and satellite integration, including Day in the Life testing and mission rehearsal

This role offers the opportunity to play a significant part in designing a new satellite system with challenging performance requirements. You'll collaborate with top engineers in the industry and work on state-of-the-art tools and methods.

The ideal candidate should have:

• PhD, or Master's degree with 5+ years of quantitative field research experience
• 3+ years of experience applying scientific principles to business problems and products
• Strong communication skills to explain research methods and findings
• Experience with data analysis, both experimental and observational
• Knowledge of programming languages like C++, Matlab, or Python
• Experience building web-based dashboards

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including equity and a range of benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300 to $247,600 per year, depending on the geographic market and other factors.
