Software Development Engineer, Direct Connect

The AWS Direct Connect team delivers solutions that make it easy for customers to establish a dedicated network connection from their premises to the AWS cloud. These connections help to reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput, and provide a more consistent network experience than Internet-based connections. AWS Direct Connect is currently available in more than 140 locations located in 28 countries.

As part of the Direct connect availability engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering engineering excellence in high-availability systems while delivering critical infrastructure solutions for our global customer base. Our goal is to eliminate human intervention and errors from network engineering services, including initial deployment and sustaining operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement significant components and features that ensure network availability for Direct Connect
• Implement solutions focused on improving proactive and reactive resiliency
• Work within TrafficShift team to design, implement, and deploy software components
• Join the oncall rota to support our service during Dublin hours
• Work in an agile, startup-like development environment
• Learn from others and help grow team members
