Software Development Engineer II, AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF)

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join their Web Application Firewall (WAF) team. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining AWS's global infrastructure security. The WAF team builds a highly available, low-latency distributed system that enables customers to protect their web applications from attacks through configurable firewall policies. The system allows real-time response to active threats by propagating changes worldwide in minutes.

As an SDE II, you'll work on complex distributed micro-services that scale globally across AWS Regions and CloudFront edge locations. The role involves direct customer interaction and ownership of the entire request processing pipeline for CloudFront, API Gateway, Application Load Balancer, and AppSync. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting solutions that help protect customer applications whether they're cloud-native, on-premise, or hybrid deployments.
