Software Development Engineer II, Managed Operations - Metrics, Monitoring and Applications (MMA) Team

AWS Managed Operations (MO) is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join their Metrics, Monitoring and Awareness (MMA) Team. Founded in April 2023, MO aims to reduce operational load through engineering, development, and science projects. The role focuses on building tools that help operators observe services, improve awareness, and make better decisions using big streaming data and AWS technologies.

The MMA team develops software applications at the intersection of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and Big Data. These tools process hundreds of millions of DevOps events across AWS to ensure operational excellence. You'll work with cutting-edge AWS technologies to build cloud-native solutions that collect and analyze events to generate insights on operational practices and risks.

Your responsibilities will include extensive coding, system design, problem-solving, and operational tasks. You'll collaborate with various roles including software engineers, data scientists, SREs, and technical program managers. The team values thorough code reviews to maintain high quality and foster knowledge sharing. On-call duties occur approximately every two months for one week.

The position requires a US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
