Description For Software Development Engineer, TrafficShift, TrafficShift

TrafficShift is a critical service within AWS's Global Connectivity and Network Availability organization, serving as a foundational networking service that enables rapid event mitigation and safe deployment of configuration updates across Amazon's global network infrastructure. As an SDE II in TrafficShift, you'll be part of AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS), the team responsible for keeping the cloud running by managing all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, and cooling equipment worldwide.

The role involves working on challenging problems in distributed systems, developing and maintaining AWS's foundational networking services. You'll be creating solutions that ensure network reliability and scalability across AWS's global infrastructure. The position requires strong technical expertise in distributed systems and programming, with opportunities to design and implement significant components that directly impact AWS's network reliability.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating across AWS to maintain the highest standards for safety and security.
