Sr. Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Software Defined Networking

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative, aimed at delivering fast, reliable internet globally. This senior software development role focuses on designing and implementing the network control plane for Kuiper's satellite constellation.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the SDN (Software Defined Networking) team, you'll be at the forefront of developing core wireless and networking solutions for a global telecom service. The role involves solving complex multi-dimensional resource allocation problems at a global scale, working with both space and terrestrial networks.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and delivering a modern, scalable network architecture
• Implementing routing, forwarding, and traffic engineering solutions
• Developing highly-available control plane software
• Defining and automating development processes
• Ensuring operational excellence for control plane services

The position requires expertise in distributed systems and networking, with the opportunity to put code into space. You'll work with satellite ground control services, customer engagement systems, and monitoring services to optimize network performance and deliver high-quality service to customers.

The SDN Agent team is described as the "brain" driving the Kuiper Network, focusing on innovation and tackling problems presented by a dynamic global-scale network.
